Varsak or Varsag ( azerb. Varsaq or Varsaq eli or) is one of the Turkic tribes that were part of the Kyzylbash tribal confederation.
The Varsak tribe belonged to Karaman ale , and owned the oymak in the Tarsus region. Most of this tribe converted to Shiism and became the Murids of the Order of Sefeviyye under Sheikh Junide , having moved to Azerbaijan. Although there were no large emirs of the “pillars of powers” from this tribe, many noble representatives of the tribe were commanders of large military formations, and tribal warriors have been among the Shah’s kurchis since the time of Shah Ismail I.
