Story
Jimmy tells Stan about Terrence and Phillip 's new freemium game. The game is free, but in order to increase the player’s capabilities it is suggested to buy gaming opportunities for real money. Stan downloads her, is fond of, although she claims that she is dumb and boring. All the guys at school agree that the game is stupid and boring, and refuse it. However, Stan cannot stop. Over time, it turns out that Stan spent $ 489 on her. Father and mother have a strict conversation with him. It turns out that his grandfather also has problems with gambling. Randy wonders if the game addiction demons could have passed on to Stan from his grandfather. In the process of parents' conversation, Marsh Sharon draws Randy's attention to the fact that he also has an addiction problem - alcohol addiction. Randy, taking a sip of gluten-free beer, categorically declares that she is in the past.
It turns out that the game was developed by the Canadian Department of Mobile Gaming ( English The Canadian Department of Mobile Gaming ) without the knowledge of Terrence and Phillip. Having learned about the game, they rush into the Ministry in a rage demanding explanations. They are furious that the game is stupid and takes money from people. But the Minister of Mobile Gaming offers them to come to terms with this, showing that the fees from it provide a significant income to the budget of Canada. Terrence and Phillip, at least offer to make the game interesting, but the minister says that it does not make sense, since if the game is interesting enough in itself, no one will spend money to make it more fun. Terrence and Phillip leave the ministry with checks of $ 10 million each.
Meanwhile, Stan begins to skip school, playing the game of Terrence and Phillip and spending an absurd amount of money. Randy and Stan take grandfather from the casino home, where Randy is trying to find out what is wrong with them. Stan declares that he is not addicted and it will not be difficult for him to quit the game. Grandfather say that if he quits Stan, he will quit. During the conversation, Randy drinks six glasses of different sorts of wine , confidently declaring that he does not drink, but tastes and that this is an “exquisite business”.
Friends find out what they told everyone about the game Jimmy, who receives money from the Canadian government for distributing the game. Jimmy admits that he, too, was addicted to online games, began to huckster, because he needed money for micropayments, but was able to free himself from dependence. He invites Stan to appeal to higher powers. He sits down to pray and in response to his calls comes Satan , the “prince of temptations”. Satan tells Stan that all living things need hormones and dopamine in order to feel the urge to eat and multiply. But since a person has everything that he wants, the work of the Prince of Darkness is to provide people with exquisite pleasures so that they strive to receive them. Stan, his father and his grandfather are genetically predisposed to addictions, as their bodies produce too much domapine, which means that Stan needs to control himself in relation to any pleasures.
After finishing the lecture, Satan accidentally sees the game and is indignant at how stupid and uninteresting it is: according to him, it offends the very concept of temptation, as pleasure must be refined. Suddenly he darkens and asks who made it. Hearing the answer "Canada", Satan enrages, infuses Stan's body and travels to Canada. At this time, Terrence and Philip, having come to the minister, discover that he is a disguised Canadian Devil, Beelzaboot . He announces that the souls of all Canadians now belong to him, but he is stopped and defeated, casting out into Hell, the enraged Satan.
Returning home, Stan decides to quit freemium games, spending time with his grandfather. Canada, in turn, announces that it is stopping the release of freemium games, and again becomes "honest, respected, albeit crap, tundra."
What is a successful online game based on?
(according to the Canadian devil)
- clasp the player with a simple game cycle;
- use a lot of shining stray and compliments to make the player proud of himself;
- train players to spend fictitious currency;
- Offer to spend in the game precisely a fictitious currency, and not real money;
- build the game on hold, but let the player pay to avoid the wait.
