Pavel Kuzmich Dunaev was born on January 23, 1923 into a large family in the village of Kiprevo, Gorodetsky district . Before the war, he graduated from the school of FZU (school of factory apprenticeship) and worked as an electrician at GOGRES in Balakhna . In March 1942 he went to war as a volunteer. He served in the 606th separate communications battalion 233 SD . Participated in battles near Voronezh , near Stalingrad , on the Oryol-Kursk arch . He participated in the battles for Chisinau and Bucharest , liberated Bulgaria and Belgrade , participated in battles near Lake Balaton in Hungary . Was injured. The war ended in Hungary .
