Biography
Ebba Tove Elsa Nilsson was born on October 29, 1987 in Stockholm , Sweden . Her mother is a psychologist Gunilla Nilsson Edholm ( Swede. Gunilla Margareta Nilsson Edholm , born August 1, 1955 ), her father is an entrepreneur- founder of iZettle and a billionaire [3] Magnus Nilsson ( Swede. Carl Magnus Walter Nilsson , born 10.24.1955). She has an older brother Leu ( Swede. Leo Nilsson , born 03/02/1986), who works with her father. Tuva has grown and is now registered in the rich district of Jursholm of the municipality of Danderyd , north of Stockholm. She describes her childhood as “very protected,” and her family, “pretty smart.” She excelled in the social sciences at school and loved literature , wrote poems and short stories.
Lou's nickname was given to her at the age of three by the godmother because of Tuva's love for lynxes (“lo” in Swedish), which she saw at the Skansen Zoo.
One of her closest friends was casting to the teenage music band Play , which was successful in the USA in 2001-2002. A friend took Lou with her to the studio. [4] Lou developed a love of music and formed a children's group with her friends and wrote her first song at the age of 10 or 11. At the age of 15, Lou wrote songs that she never showed to anyone, and performed on stage twice before joining the Rytmus Musikergymnasiet College of Music at sixteen.
In 2006, Lou began writing songs with Christian Bjerrin, a guitarist from Rytmus. The couple then formed the mathematical rock group "Tremblebee" with three other students from the school. They played together for several years in bars all over Sweden , releasing some of their own songs. The group broke up in 2009. At one time with a group, Lou developed a passion for performing on stage.
During her time at college, Lou made friends with Caroline Hjelt, who later formed the Swedish duo, Icona Pop . Two years later, Lou graduated from college and was confident that her career would be musical, despite the fact that her parents thought otherwise.
In an interview with Attitude magazine in January 2017, Lou spoke about her bisexuality , adding that she was very lucky that she grew up in a liberal country. But in March of the same year, she gave an interview to Out magazine, stating that she had never been in a relationship with a woman.
Career
2009-2013: the beginning of a career and cooperation.
After the collapse of Tremblebee, Lou decided to focus on her own tracks, spending six months at home in her studio, creating demos . She also learned how to play drums , music programming and producing .
Later, Lou met the brother of the wife of the successful producer Max Martin , Julius Petersson, to whom she presented her record, but he refused. She first met him at a party in Stockholm, devoted to the first “Icona Pop” deal, and then again by chance in a bar in London . He liked the song. In 2011, Lou signed a publishing contract with Warner / Chappell Music . She moved to Los Angeles and worked with Swedish producer Max Martin and lived in his house. 2014–2015: Truth Serum and Queen of the Clouds
Lo received a recording proposal from Universal Music . In October 2013, she released her first single from the label - " Out of Mind ". She ended up signing a contract with Island Records and Polydor Records . Then Lo turned her attention to an international musical career, gaining recognition for her first concerts in London and during a tour in the United States . The debut album, Truth Serum , was released on March 3, 2014. The album spawned three singles; “Out of Mind”, the only single that could appear on the Finnish Airplay Chart charts, reached 39. The next single was Habits (Stay High) and its remixed version of Hippie Sabotage , renamed “Stay High”. The latter gave a breakthrough to Lo, the track reached 13 in Sweden and number 6 in the UK . The singer was later named VH1 "You Oughta Know" and iHeart Radio 's On the Verge. She made her live television debut by performing “Stay High” at Late Night with Seth Meyers in June 2014. Lo's debut album, Queen of the Clouds , was released on September 24, 2014, which had generally positive reviews. He debuted at number 14 on the US Billboard 200 and sold 19,000 copies in the first week. Law was in the introductory act for the third stage of the pre-Christmas tour of the American singer Katy Perry in November 2014. She wrote, released and recorded the song “Scream My Name” for The Hunger Games: Mockingjay . At the end of 2014, it was signed with the Max Martin Martin Wolf Cousins team. The tracks, written in collaboration with Lo, were featured in the 2014 album releases of Sher Lloyd's “Sorry I'm Late”, “Loker” by Lei Michele, and “Zara Larsson” 1. On August 4, 2016, Lo released the lead single from her second album “ Cool Girl ”. The next day it turned out that the name of her upcoming album will be Lady Wood , and the date of its release was announced on October 28, 2016.
Five days before the album, Lo announced a solo tour in Europe and North America called Lady Wood Tour , in which the singer visited twenty-one cities on two continents to promote the new release. Later dates of performances were announced after the release of the album.
