Doty (area)

Doti ( Nepali. डोटी जिल्ला ) is one of the 75 districts of Nepal . It is part of the Sethi zone, which, in turn, is part of the Far West region of the country.

In the west, it borders with the Dadeldhur and Baytadi districts of the Mahakali zone, in the north it borders with the Badzhang district, in the east with the Achham region, in the south with the Kailali region and in the southeast with the Surkhet district of the Bheri zone. The area of ​​the district is 2025 km². The administrative center is the city of Dipayal Silgadhi .

The population according to the 2011 census is 211 746 people, of which 97 252 are men and 114 494 are women [1] . According to the 2001 census, the population numbered 207,066 people [2] . The population of the region speaks the Diyali language, which is very close to the Kumaoni language and can be regarded as a dialect of the latter.
