KZU-2 (from K umulative Charger U long, sample No. 2 ) is a Soviet engineering cumulative ammunition designed to interrupt elements of reinforced concrete, metal, brick, stone and other structures in any weather conditions, including under water. Unlike concentrated charges, the result of the explosion is an elongated gap, not a hole.
Design
It consists of a duralumin case, an explosive charge (TG-40 alloy), removable magnets for mounting on metal objects, an intermediate detonator in a separate case, and a foam insert. The explosive charge has a semi-cylindrical cumulative cavity with steel lining. It is painted in light gray (ball) color. It is marked in the standard way: on the side wall is the charge code, the code for the equipment, the batch number, the year of manufacture, the code for the explosive.
