Story Description
Katowice , the night from 12 to 13 December 1981. Military units occupy strategic points of the city. A detachment of ZOMO pulls the leader of the Solidarity trade union of the Vuek mine out of the apartment of Jan Ludwiczak, brutally beating several union members. Enraged miners decide to take a protest. Three miners agree with the priest about holding a mass at the mine. General Jaruzelski reports on the introduction of martial law in the country. Representatives of the military are summoning miners to negotiate and report that the country is threatened by foreign intervention, and during martial law the orders of the authorities must be executed without question.
The miners defy persuasion and go on strike. They beat off several attacks arrived at the mine units ZOMO, supported by tanks. However, government forces open fire on the crowd, killing nine miners. Suppressed by the incident, both sides cease hostilities.
