Biography
Born into a peasant family in the village of Noselovka (Ukrainian: Noselivka) of the Borznyansky district of the Chernigov province of the Russian Empire . After school he graduated from the Kharkov Pedagogical Institute of Professional Education (1933).
In 1933-1934 he worked as head of the Kharkov State Vegetable Variety Sector. In 1934 he was transferred to scientific work in Tiraspol of the Moldavian SSR, where the head of the department worked for five years. department of vegetable crops, then - in 1939-1941 deputy. Director of Research, since 1941 - Director of the Moldovan Vegetable and Potato Station in Tiraspol; in 1950-1953 - Deputy Minister of Agriculture of the Moldavian SSR .
In 1953-1956 - Director of the Research Institute of Soil Science, Agricultural Chemistry and Land Reclamation of the Moldavian Branch of the USSR Academy of Sciences. Since 1956 - Director of the Moldavian Research Institute of Irrigated Agriculture and Horticulture . At the same time since 1961, academician - secretary of the Department of Biological Sciences of the Academy of Sciences of the Moldavian SSR .
The organizer of selection work with vegetable crops in Moldova. Bred and participated in the breeding of many varieties and hybrids of tomatoes , cucumbers, sweetcorn , etc.
Hero of Socialist Labor (1966). He was awarded two orders of the Red Banner of Labor .
He died on June 19, 1967 , Tiraspol , Moldavian SSR , was buried in the city cemetery [1] .
