From the memoirs of contemporaries

Voinilovich Edward left the following memories of Prince Stanislav Radziwill:

1. “(1903) ... Two sons (Anthony Radziwill - approx.) As Prussian subjects at one time served in Berlin as guard officers, later they accepted Russian citizenship so as not to lose the right to inherit ancestral property in Belarus. Acceptance of this citizenship took place at an accelerated pace due to the existing ties between the Berlin and St. Petersburg courts at that time, as well as the personal ties of Prince Anthony's wife with the then-omnipotent Minister, Count Witte. Otherwise, Prince Jerzy would have lived in Nesvizh for about five years before the oath of citizenship was taken. And Prince Stanislav, who volunteered to join the detachment of the Transbaikal Cossacks during the Japanese War, “ex nunc” received an officer rank and permission for citizenship. ”

2. “(May 26, 1920). May 24, the second day of the Trinity. We have gathered numerous neighbors. There was alarming news about the Bolsheviks breaking through the front not far from Igumen and Borisov. On the morning of May 25, I went to Nesvizh at the invitation to take part in the burial rite in the Farny Church dungeon of the remains of the first ordinate of David-Gorodok, Prince Stanislav Radziwill, Rostmister of the 3rd Lancers and the closest adjutant to the Head of State. Prince Stanislav was a soldier of extraordinary courage.

I heard from the stories of the Lancers that with the battle it was necessary to take an impregnable position, and panic began in the ranks; Prince Stanislav, dropping his weapon, with a gauntlet in his hand, rushed forward, led his soldiers behind him and took the height. And now, being Pilsudsky’s personal adjutant, he might not have taken part in actions at the front, but he insisted on being entrusted to him with the cavalry detachment, commanding which near Malin, near Kiev (Zhytomyr Region). He was seriously wounded and left in a peasant's hut, then surrounded by the prevailing forces of the Bolsheviks. The owner of the hut revealed the secret of which guest he hides, and finished off the prince with bayonets and butts. His godfather, Prince Jerome Radziwill, married to a princess from Zywiec and at one time considered the probable future king of Poland, went to Ukraine and found the body.

The official funeral, in which Pilsudski took part, was held in the Holy Cross Church in Warsaw, and then the remains were transported to Nesvizh. At the tomb in Warsaw were princes Leon, Jerome and Janusz (son of Karol) of Radziwill. These funerals were sad, because the city did not take proper part in them, as was supposed to be done for the son of Nesvizh land and one of the bravest officers of the Polish army. This was explained by the fear that, in the conditions of the Bolshevik offensive, their participants would not be counted by agents. However, I want to note that, in the prevailing demagogic mood, they did not want to emphasize the merits of the landowner, but also the prince, which is more likely ” [3] .
