Division Creation
The 3rd Guards Fighter Aviation Division was created on March 21, 1943 for exemplary performance of command assignments in battles with the German invaders and the courage and heroism shown by renaming the 210th Fighter Aviation Division on the basis of the Order of the NPO of the USSR [1]

The 3rd Guards Bryansk Red Banner Order of Suvorov Fighter Aviation Division was renamed on February 20, 1949 the 98th Guards Bryansk Red Banner Order of Suvorov Fighter Aviation Division [2]
Division
The 98th Guards Fighter Aviation Bryansk Red Banner Order of the Suvorov Air Defense Division was disbanded in May 1960, the 78th Air Defense Fighter Corps was reorganized into the 7th Air Defense Corps , parts of the division became part of the newly formed corps with the exception of the 176th Guards IAP (disbanded).
