Background
Representative of the Mughal dynasty , Babur from 1515 tried to take control of northern India . As a result of four campaigns by 1525, significant results were achieved, however, after a fleeting war with the Sultan of Delhi, Ibrahim-Shah Shah, Lodi lost all possessions. At the end of 1525, he decided to go on a campaign to regain control of the lost territories. The Rajputs, led by Sangram Singh, sided with Delhi . After the battle of Panipat (April 21, 1526) and the capture of Delhi, the next year, Babur turned to Rajputan in an effort to stop the impulse of the Rajput.
Battle Progress
The battle lasted 10 hours and showed the overwhelming advantage of the Mughals in tactics and weapons. Against the numerical superiority of the Rajputs, the innovation of the era, the cannon, was opposed. Defensive fortifications were built from the embankments and connected carts, which made cavalry attack tactics convenient for the Rajputans impossible. Sangram Singh was wounded in battle and died the following year. [one]
