The problem of opium in Iran is the universal availability of the drug. The country has the highest opium consumption per capita in the world [1] . In Tehran, 4000 kg of the drug is used daily. 2.8% of the population over the age of 15 at least once consumed opium. According to the Iranian government, the number of drug addicts in the country exceeds 2 million people [2] . A large amount of opium is brought across the eastern border from Pakistan and Afghanistan from the Golden Crescent Plantation. In Iran, more often than in any other country in the world, law enforcement agencies catch drug dealers, but the government emphasizes that the police intercept only a tiny fraction of dealers who annually distribute thousands of tons of potent drugs in the country [3] . Iran sells the cheapest opium in the world. For comparison, even low-quality beer in the republic is more expensive. In the city of Zahedan , for example, 3 grams of opium can be purchased for just 10,000 Iranian rials, which is equivalent to $ 1, and 1 kg of drug costs $ 330. In the city of Zabol, you can buy opium even cheaper: for 1 US dollar, the addict will receive 5 grams of opium. In this drug, Iranians appreciate not only cheapness, but also the absence of prohibitions in the holy scriptures of the Qur'an. Alcohol, for example, is prohibited by religion, and the sale of wine and vodka products is much more strictly controlled by law.
