Kadesh ( Kadesh Barnea ) on the southeast border of Palestine
Kadesh is the oasis mentioned in the Bible in the Negev desert [1] on the border of the Sinai Peninsula and Canaan ( Southern District of Israel ).
The Mishpat spring was located there, and the tribes of the Amalekites inhabited ( Genesis 14: 7 ). During the wanderings of Moses in the desert from Kadesh scouts were sent to Canaan ( Num. 13:27 ), and ambassadors to Idumu ( Num. 20:14 ). Jews arrived in Kadess after 11 days from Mount Sinai , but remained in this place for about 38 years [2] . Kadesh is the place of death of the prophetess Mariam ( Num. 20: 1 ). There is a version identifying Kadesh and Peter [3]
