Biography

He was born on May 13, 1890 in Odessa, [1] in the family of the famous cantor Solomon (Efraim Zalman) Reasonable (1866-1905), - in different years of the main cantor of the Great Synagogue of Nikolaev , the synagogue "Zohvey Tsedek" in Chisinau and the New (Shalashnaya) synagogue on Catherine Street in Odessa. He began a theatrical career after the death of his father. Initially, he worked in St. Petersburg theaters (including the Crooked Mirror Theater), then - at the Moscow Art Theater . After the closure of the Crooked Mirror in 1918, he directed his own cabaret theater in Moscow for some time (the theater of M. A. Razumny). In 1937, Mikhail Razumny moved to the United States , where in 1938 he worked at the WELD radio station, then starred in films in Hollywood at the MGM and Paramount studios (mainly in "ethnic" roles).
