The constituent congress of the party, which was attended by 222 people, was held on June 1, 2012 in Preili . The Latgale party was added to the Latvian Register of Political Parties and Organizations on August 28, 2012. Since February 2014 [1] the leader has been the chairman of the Daugavpils City Council Janis Lachplesis [2] . The deputy chairman is the deputy of the XII Seym Aldis Adamovich. The party was created with the aim of protecting interests and solving problems of the Latgale region (southeastern part of Latvia). The party program provides for the uniform development of the country's regions, support for local entrepreneurs, the preservation and development of cultural traditions. Following the results of municipal elections, this political organization received the support of the majority of voters in Daugavpils, Preili, Ludza, Riebinsky, and Viljak territories; there are deputies from this party in most municipalities of Latgale (eastern region of Latvia). Many local governments of Latgale ( Daugavpils , Ludza , Viljaka , Aglona , Varkava ) are headed by members of the Latgale party.

The party is represented in parliament by deputy Aldis Adamovich [3] .
