Biography
Born in Rome , son of theater critic Nico Garrone. After graduating from the art school he worked as an assistant operator, from 1986 to 1995 he worked as an artist [3] . For his first short film, Silhouette, Garrone received Sacher d'Oro , an award sponsored by the famous Italian director and screenwriter Nanni Moretti . In 1997, the director made his first full-length film, the Mediterranean , in which one of the three episodes was the film "Silhouette".
Critics' recognition came to Garron after the film Taxidermist, for which he received the David di Donatello Award for Best Screenplay. The film was a turning point in the career of the director.
The director of the film "Gomorrah" , shot from the book of the same name by Roberto Saviano, brought world success.
