Biography
Vladimir Konstantinovich Abazopulo was born on September 2, 1951 in the village of Zarozhany, Khotinsky district, Chernivtsi region . Ethnic Greek [1] . Grandfather Panayot Abazopulo was a free sailor who came to Odessa in 1854 to serve in the Black Sea Fleet . Konstantin Abazopulo, the father of Vladimir, was born in Odessa, because of the intolerance of the Soviet government towards national minorities, he had to hide his Greek origin, and for the same reasons he moved first to Zaporozhye and then to Bukovina .
In 1977, Vladimir graduated from the acting department of the Kiev State Institute of Theatrical Art named after Ivan Karpenko-Kary (course of Valentina Winter ). In the same year he became an actor of the I. Franko Theater in Kiev .
In 1997 he was awarded the title "Honored Artist of Ukraine" [2] . January 16, 2009 was awarded the title "People's Artist of Ukraine" - for significant personal contribution to the consolidation of Ukrainian society, the development of a democratic, social and legal state and on the occasion of Unity Day of Ukraine [3] .
Abazopulo had cancer, lost his voice, and then underwent surgery on his throat. With the artificial voice apparatus continues to play in the theater, for which some of the roles were specially remade, left without text. He teaches lessons of the scenic movement in the Kiev Conservatory , gives master classes at the Kiev University of Arts Culture [4] .
