Biography
In 1970 she graduated from the Leningrad State Pedagogical Institute. A. I. Herzen in the specialty "teacher-defectologist."
In the first and subsequent years, her labor activity was associated with organizational and creative work with young people.
From 1976 to 1986, she worked at the Leningrad Youth Palace, where she was the curator of the youth sections of the Creative Unions of cinematographers, composers, writers of the All-Russian Theater Society, participated in the implementation of concert performance programs in the areas of BAMA, Surgut, and the Far North [1] .
She took part in organizing and conducting: St. Petersburg Culture Days in Finland, Poland, East Germany, Hungary, Czechoslovakia; International festivals of creative youth in St. Petersburg.
Since 1987 - Deputy Director of the Leningrad Academic Choreographic School named after A. Ya. Vaganova. Together with the director of the school, L. N. Nadirov, she transformed the A. Ya. Vaganova Leningrad Academic School of Choreography into a higher educational institution, the A. Ya. Vaganova Academy of Russian Ballet. Since 1992 - Assistant Rector of the Academy, since 2004 - Rector of the Academy.
In the 1990s, with the support of the Administration of St. Petersburg, she did a great deal of resettlement from the dormitories located in the courtyard buildings of the Academy, the creative workers of the Leningrad theaters, providing them with separate apartments and the subsequent transfer of the premises for the needs of the Academy's educational process.
In the same years, on the basis of the Academy, L. N. Nadirov and V. A. Dorofeeva:
- The Interstate Center for the Preservation and Development of the Methodology of A. Ya. Vaganova (later transformed into the Educational and Methodical Association of Higher Educational Institutions of the Russian Federation for Education in the Field of Choreographic Art) was created,
- The Museum of the Academy, expanded in 1957 by the ballet dancer and teacher of the school M. Kh. Frangopulo, has been expanded and completely updated thanks to the new premises, [2]
- The House Church of the Holy Trinity under the former Directorate of Imperial Theaters (established in 1806) was restored [3] ,
- The Vaganova-PRIX International Ballet Competition was established (held in 1995, 1998, 2002, 2006),
- The annual International seminars “Methodology of A. Ya. Vaganova and the modern educational process” were established (since 1989).
She coordinated the activities of the Academy with foreign ballet schools, choreographic schools of the countries of the former CIS.
The activities of the International Department of the Academy of Russian Ballet were intensified by V.A. Dorofeeva, which she led from 1989 to 2004, dealing with the organization of internships for foreign students at the Academy and the sending of leading academy teachers abroad.
V. A. Dorofeeva organized and successfully conducted tours of the Academy's pupils in Germany (1988, 1989), France (1989), the Netherlands (1989), the USA (1990), Ireland (1991), Greece (1992), Japan (1992, 1994, 1998, 2004), Italy (1995, 2003, 2005), England (2004) and other countries.
Together with the first President of the Academy K.M. Sergeyev and the rector of the Academy L.N. Nadirov, she realized such cultural projects as the P.I. Tchaikovsky Festival (1990) and the anniversary of N.M. Dudinskaya (1992) at the Bolshoi Theater .
She led the development and implementation of programs for an intensive Russian language course for foreign students of the Academy using modern technologies.
Since 2004, she was co-chair of the Educational and Methodological Association of Higher Educational Institutions of the Russian Federation for Education in the Field of Choreographic Art, and also a member of the Coordinating Council for Education in the Field of Culture and Art.
In 2007, she introduced to the Academy an innovative system of training ballet dancers with higher education (bachelor level).
In 2013, in connection with the appointment of N. M. Tsiskaridze as the rector of the Academy, she moved to the Mikhailovsky Theater [4] .
