Design
The monument consists of a circular platform with a diameter of 190 meters, located in the center of an artificial lake. On the platform is a 40-meter [3] turquoise dome , divided into two parts, which resembles the domes of the times of the Arab Caliphate. The two parts of the dome are offset from each other, in the center is the eternal flame and the sculpture of the Iraqi flag. In addition, under the domes there is a fountain and an entrance to the underground rooms, on two floors of which are a museum, a library, an exhibition gallery and a hall for performances.
The monument is located on the eastern bank of the Tigris River, not far from the Kanat el-Jeysh canal that separates Madinat es Sadr from the rest of Baghdad.
