Manor History
The area on which the estate was later built was known as Oshitkovo and was defined by the wasteland in the scribe books of the turn of the XVI-XVII centuries. The first owners of this land were the Elizarovs , whom Tsar Mikhail Fedorovich granted them. In 1707, the area became the property of the son of the Elizarovs, the nobleman Semyon Erofeevich Almazov , in which the first wooden church was erected in honor of Sergius of Radonezh, on which the village itself began to be called Sergievsky. In the 1730s, the wooden church was replaced by a stone one already under the son of Semyon Erofeevich - Ivan. In 1753, the estate was acquired by a large landowner and industrialist Nikita Akinfievich Demidov .
Manor today
Today, only a few buildings have survived from the entire estate complex: the main house and two outbuildings , as well as the restored temple. Now there is the Almazov special (correctional) boarding school, leading its origin from the Soviet period. Little is left of the pond system and canal network, as well as parkland, the area is swampy and does not represent an opportunity for safe walks.
