International Turkic Academy ( Kazakh. Turki academies of halykaralyk қyymy ) is a scientific center created to study the Turkic world. Located in the city of Astana (Kazakhstan).

History
On October 3, 2009, at the 9th summit of the heads of Turkic-speaking states in the city of Nakhichevan, the Republic of Azerbaijan, President of the Republic of Kazakhstan Nursultan Nazarbayev made a proposal to establish a scientific center to study the Turkic world.
On May 25, 2010, the Turkic Academy was opened in the capital of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Astana, in the Palace of Peace and Concord. The opening ceremony was attended by President of the Republic of Kazakhstan Nursultan Nazarbayev and President of Turkey Abdullah Gul, as well as prominent Turkologist scientists from Kazakhstan, Turkey, the USA, Russia (Tatarstan, Bashkortostan, Chuvashia, Yakutia), Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan and Ukraine.
On August 22-23, 2012, in the capital of the Kyrgyz Republic, Bishkek, at the II Summit of the Turkic Council, the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan Nursultan Nazarbayev, the President of the Republic of Turkey Abdullah Gul, the President of the Kyrgyz Republic Almazbek Atambayev and the Prime Minister of the Republic of Azerbaijan Arthur Rasizade signed an agreement on the assignment of international status to the Turkic Academy.
After the agreement was ratified by the founding countries, the Turkic Academy, which has been operating in Kazakhstan since 2010, received international status on August 27, 2014. Thus, the international scientific center “International Turkic Academy”, created jointly by four Turkic-speaking states, began its work.

Goals and Mission
Purpose: Coordination and promotion of scientific research on the history of the Turkic world, from ancient centuries to the present, the study of the Turkic language and literature, culture, as well as the study of the common Turkic world based on the discovery of unique sources and identification of the role and place of Turkic states in the world.
Mission: Development of scientific and educational activities of scientific associations of Turkic peoples, as well as the creation of conditions for supporting and combining initiatives of statesmen of Turkic-speaking states.
International cooperation
Currently, the International Turkic Academy has approved a memorandum, establishing links with about 40 research institutes, and Turkic centers. Among them: the National Academy of Sciences of Hungary, the National Academy of Sciences of the Kyrgyz Republic, the National Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Azerbaijan, the National Academy of Sciences of the Mongolian Republic and its research centers, as well as research centers of the Academy of Sciences of the Russian Federation. Along with this, the Academy is conducting a project with the participation of about 100 foreign Turkic scientists. The International Turkic Academy also established cooperation with the Turkic Council, TurkPA, TURKSOY and the Research Center for Islamic History, Art and Culture (IRCICA).
Structure
Scientific Council The Turkic Academy is headed by the Scientific Council, which consists of one representative from each side (member states of the Turkic Council), as well as the President and Vice-Presidents of the Turkic Academy.
The President The President shall appoint a person from among citizens of states (member states of the Turkic Council) for a period of 4 years. The first president of the International Turkic Academy is Doctor of Historical Sciences Darhan Kuandykovich Kydyrali. He was appointed to this post on June 4-5, 2014 by decision of the heads of four member states at the 4th Summit of the Turkic Council held in Bodrum, Turkey. Since the International Turkic Academy is located in Kazakhstan, it was decided to appoint her the first president of a citizen of Kazakhstan. The Chairmanship is appointed on a rotational basis in accordance with the alphabetical order of the official names of the parties in English: Azerbaijan; Kyrgyzstan and Turkey.
Vice-Presidents Since the president of the International Turkic Academy is a citizen of Kazakhstan, 3 citizens from the remaining member states of the Turkic Council (Turkey, Azerbaijan, Kyrgyzstan) are appointed vice-presidents.
Research centers There are 5 research centers at the International Turkic Academy. These are: the center of history and ethnology; center of language, literature and terminology; center of art and culture; Center for Socio-Economic Research; and Center for International Research. These centers are aimed at studying various problems of the Turkic world, culture, history, economy and integration.
Academy Proceedings
Scientists from the founding countries and the Turkic world work at the International Turkic Academy. The Academy has implemented many international projects regarding the Turkic world. Thanks to this, about 50 scientific books have been published in four years. They touch upon the themes of modern Turkology, Turkic history, culture, and the art of the future Turkic people. Along with this, the Academy publishes the journal “Altaiistics and Turkology”, which investigates from the point of view of science, the main problems of Turkology and Altaiistics, as well as the information-analytical magazine “GLOBAL-Turk”. Scientific and analytical articles are published in four languages (Kazakh, Russian, English, Turkish). In addition, Turkic-language dictionaries were published.
Since 2010, the Academy has held international conferences, forums, and seminars on Turkic history, culture and the great personalities of the Turkic people.
Turkic library
At the International Turkic Academy, a Turkic library was created. The library fund consists of more than 32,000 printed publications, created on the basis of personal libraries of famous Turkologists, as well as the library itself. The personal book fund of famous Turkic scholars such as Istvan Mandoki Konyr , Abduali Kaydar and Abzhan Kuryshzhanuly were transferred to the library of the academy. The library also has a rare collection of books and copies of manuscripts. The library has separate bookshelves dedicated to the Turkic peoples. Here you can find literature of the Kazakh, Turkish, Azerbaijani, Uzbek, Bashkir, Tatar, Karachay, Khakkas, Karakalpak, Nogai and other peoples. An electronic database of the Turkic library is being prepared.
Museum
In the museum, opened at the International Turkic Academy, you can see valuable relics of the Turkic people from different periods. Work continues on collecting clothing and photo documents of the cultural heritage of the Turkic people. In September 2014, the museum supplemented by relics was completely renovated.
