Vasily Fedorovich Morkovkin ( 1938 - 2010 ) - major general of the border troops of Belarus, head of the Main Directorate of the border troops of Belarus.

Biography
Vasily Morkovkin was born on September 1, 1938 at the Amelino farm (now the Frolovsky District of the Volgograd Region ). In October 1957, he was called up for service in the border troops. In 1959 - 1962, Morkovkin studied at the Moscow border military school of the KGB of the USSR, after which he served in officer posts in the border troops. In 1973 he graduated from the intelligence department of the MV Frunze Military Academy [1] .
After the collapse of the USSR, Morkovkin continued to serve in the border troops of Belarus, held the posts of deputy chief of staff of the Main Directorate of Border Troops, head of the Smorgon border detachment. From September 1994 to November 1996, he headed the Main Directorate of the Border Troops of the Republic of Belarus [1] .
He died on October 29, 2010, was buried in the Eastern cemetery of Minsk [1] .
He was awarded the Order of the Red Star , a number of medals, an Honorary Diploma of the Presidium of the Supreme Council of the RSFSR [1] .
