Nikolai Faddeevich Sandrigailo ( October 10, 1909 , Yekaterinburg , Russian Empire - December 19, 1982 , Rudny , Kustanai region , Kazakh SSR , USSR ) - the first director of the Sokolovsko-Sarbaisky mining and enrichment plant (1954-1972), Hero of Socialist Labor (1966). Member of the Supreme Council of the Kazakh SSR .

Biography

Born on October 10, 1909 in Yekaterinburg in a teacher's family. He began his career at the age of fourteen. In 1931 he entered the Nizhny Tagil Mining and Metallurgical College. Having received a diploma in mining technology, he worked at the Vysokogorsky mine, at the Lebyazhensky and Goroblagodatsky mine departments. A few years later he was appointed head of the association of mines of the Bakalsky mine administration of the Chelyabinsk region. Then he was the chief engineer of the Zlatoust mining department of the village of Magnitka. In 1940 he joined the Communist Party.

In the early 50s of the XX century, he worked as deputy manager of the Uralrud trust in Sverdlovsk. In 1952 he entered extramural studies at the Higher Engineering Courses. In 1954 he was appointed to the post of director of the new Sokolovsko-Sarbaisky mining plant in the Kustanai region of the Kazakh SSR. As a result of the management activities of Nikolai Sandrigailo, by the end of 1957 the first crushing plant had been launched, which this year produced 1 million tons of crude ore.

He was elected a deputy of the Supreme Council of the Kazakh SSR of 6-7 convocations. He was the director of the Sokolovsko-Sarbaisky mining plant until 1972.

He died in 1982. He was buried at the Shirokorechensky cemetery in Yekaterinburg.

Memory

  • One of the main streets in the city of Rudny, Kustanai region, the former part of Peace Street, is named after Nikolai Sandrigailo.
