Karnali ( Nepalese कर्णाली कर्णाली ) is a zone (administrative unit) in northwestern Nepal . It is part of the Midwestern region of the country. The administrative center is the city of Jumla .

Population
The population according to the 2011 census is 388 713 people; according to the 2001 census, it numbered 309,084 people [1] .
Geography
The area of the zone is 21 351 km² (the largest zone of the country). It borders the Sethi zone (in the west), the Dhaulagiri zone (in the southeast), the Rapti and Bheri zones (in the south), as well as the Tibet Autonomous Region of China (in the north). This is one of the poorest and most inaccessible regions of the country. There are 2 national parks on the territory of the zone: Rara (106 km²) and Shay-Phoksundo (3555 km²).
