Northern coast of the Neva Bay

The reserve is bounded in the south by the coast of the Neva Bay ( Gulf of Finland ), and in the north by Primorsky highway . The total area of ​​the reserve is 330 ha. A wide panorama of Vasilievsky Island , Kronstadt and the opposite shore of the Gulf of Finland opens from the coastal part of the reserve (about 3 km long).

The reserve, in addition to the stretch of coast of the Gulf of Finland, includes the island of Verperloda located next to it ^[1] .

7 kilometers east-north-east of it is located Yuntolovsky reserve .

The territory of the reserve is a mixed coastal forest and is a historically established site of migratory birds .

Over 500 species of vascular plants grow in the reserve, 3 of which (the finest caulinia, the midfielder lake and the Walenberg chastushka ) are listed in the Red Book of Russia ^[2] .

In 1769, to the east of the present territory of the reserve ^[3] , the Thunder-stone mined in Petrovsky Pond , which from 2015 also became one of the protected areas of St. Petersburg, was loaded onto the water.
