Biography
Born in Chuvashia, the family soon moved to Novosibirsk . In 1967-68 he graduated from the Novosibirsk Aviation Center DOSAAF. In 1969 he graduated from the Central United Flight Technical School of DOSAAF in Kaluga with a degree in helicopter flight instructor. In 1972 he fulfilled the standard of the USSR master of sports in helicopter sports.
In 1973, he became the World Champion in England and received the title of master of sports of international class.
In 1978, he became the absolute World champion in Vitebsk .
2-time World Champion in the team event (England - 1973 and Vitebsk - 1978), 4-time World Champion in separate exercises.
3-time absolute champion of the USSR (1975 - Yaroslavl, 1976 - Saratov, 1977 - Vitebsk), 7-time champion of the USSR in the team event, 6-time champion of the USSR in separate exercises.
Multiple silver and bronze medalist of the USSR and World Championships.
He lives in Novosibirsk , and has been working since 1994 as the head of the Siblet flying club.
