Fluffy fur

The fluidity of the fur is a flowing pile caused by a weakening of the connection between the dermis and the hairline. This is one of the most common defects in fur products.

Minor hair loss is acceptable. For example, trimmed hairs at the seams - at the joints of parts, or hairs in places of close contact with the car seat or bag can get enough sleep (but in this case we are talking, rather, not about fluidity, but about breaking off the remaining hair).

If the shedding does not stop, then we are dealing with a defect in the fur.

Reasons

The reasons for the appearance of fluidity of the fur include the following factors:

  • artificial molting of animals;
  • violation of the dressing of skins;
  • damage by parasites.

Artificial molting of animals [1] is a process widely used on Chinese farms. It is explained by the desire of unscrupulous manufacturers to save on growing animals and reduce the cost of fur. Natural molting of animals occurs in late November. And to get winter fur already in August, the hormone melatonin is injected into the animals, causing premature molting. But the skin tissue in this period is still not thick enough and the outer hair is not stable. Hence the causes of the fluidity of the fur.

The fluidity of the fur can also indicate improper skinning [2] , for example, untimely preservation, which is why decomposition processes began in the skin tissue.

Damage to the skin of the skin with parasites [3] leads to exposure of the hair roots, as a result of which we again deal with the softness of the fur.

Checking the fur for fluidity [4]

To identify the presence or absence of a fluidity defect in the selected fur product, swipe with two fingers folded in the form of the English letter V in the direction of hair growth. If a significant amount of hairs falls out, then there is a defect.
