History
The Rai Sport Satellite began broadcasting in 1999. [1] The idea to launch a special sports channel originated from the sports edition of “Rai” [2] .
During the Giro d'Italia 2008, the channel was renamed “Rai Sport Più” (“Rai Sport Plus”) and started part of the competition, such as the 2008 European Football Championship or the 2008 Summer Olympics to broadcast in widescreen 16: 9 [1] .
On May 18, 2010, the second TV channel, Rai Sport 2, was launched [4] .
