Biography
Born in 1910 in the village of Bakhmut, Ufa province. After completing the courses of machine operators in 1926, he worked as a machine operator. Since 1929 he worked as a mechanic in the Keles MTS of the South Kazakhstan region. In 1932 he was drafted into the ranks of the Red Army. After army service he returned in 1935, worked as a mechanic in various MTSs of the South Kazakhstan region. Since 1943 he worked in the Lenger MTS of the South Kazakhstan region. In 1957 he was appointed senior mechanic of the Lenger MTS.
Thanks to the activities of Vasily Varnavsky, the collective farms serviced by the Lenger MTS collected in 1947 11 centners of grain per hectare, exceeding the plan by 1.5 centners. For his achievements in labor, in 1948 he was awarded the title Hero of Socialist Labor.
