In 1819, her father left the service and settled with his family: his wife Marfa Afanasyevna and two daughters, Alexandra and Felitsatoy (1818–1897), in the village of Safonkovo in the Tver province, devoting his efforts to developing the “peasant” genre. There he organized his own art school , which was attended by Alexander.
Alexandra performed portraits, genre paintings, still lifes. The author of memories of his father (1860s) [1] . Her works are available at the State Tretyakov Gallery, Tver Regional Art Gallery [2] . “Her art, very sincere, bears the stamp of naivety inherent in the so-called home painters” [3] .
Both sisters were not married; Felicata bequeathed part of his fortune to the establishment of a scholarship named after his father at the Academy of Fine Arts, and his Self-Portrait to the Russian Museum [4] . Alexandra “after the death of her father was left almost without a livelihood, was forced to sell her father’s estate Safonkovo. Until her death, she corresponded about placing her in the Smolny House of Charity ” [3] .
