The city is a famous center of agricultural production. Banana and Yucca serve as the main crops in the vicinity of Moki.
Moka also received the nickname "Villas of Heroes" ( Spanish: La Villa Heroica ), which is associated with the role of local immigrants and residents with the overthrow of Dominican dictators at different times: Ulysses Hero in 1899 and Rafael Trujillo in 1961. The latter had his own house in Moka, close to its main attraction: Corazon Church Sagrado Jesus (Sacred Heart of Jesus).
