Kemeri (station)

Kemeri ( Latvian. Meriemeri ) is a railway station within the city of Jurmala in Latvia . The station is located on the line Tornakalns - Tukums II . The destination of the Riga - Kemeri electric train route. Also in ериemeri all electric trains of the Riga- Tukums I , Riga- Tukums II routes stop.

Content

History

The construction of the station was completed by the opening of the line in 1877 . The station was intended for holidaymakers, located near the resort of Kemeri. At the time when Latvia was part of the Russian Empire , there was a direct railway route Moscow - Kemeri (opened in 1911 ). The first passenger building of the station was destroyed during the First World War , rebuilt in 1922, and survived to this day with minor changes. [3] . From 1912 to 1920 , the ериemeri station was connected to the seaside town of Jaunемemeri by a tram [4] . Tram rails were dismantled in 1933 . In the 1990s, 4 stations were dismantled. Preserved freight ramp this way.
