Education
He studied at Liepaja Secondary School No. 1 and Riga Secondary School No. 64.
In 1994 he graduated from the Faculty of Law of the University of Latvia . He studied economics in Austria , Germany and the Czech Republic .
Career
He worked on Latvian radio and television.
In 1990-1991, he was an assistant attorney at the Bugers un Plaude Bureau.
In 1992 - a lawyer in the law office "Lana".
In 1992-1994 - Director of the Transfer Stiftung Marktwitrschaft Lettland Foundation.
Since 1995, he heads the Rodina Public Fund and is a member of the board of directors of the Real Estate Agency (VNĪA).
In 2002-2004 - Minister of the Interior of Latvia.
In 2002-2006 - Member of the 8th Saeima of Latvia .
He was a member of the Latvian Way , New Time and New Democrats parties.
