Biography

Vyacheslav Mokhort was born on March 28, 1924 in the village of Shulyaki (now - Slutsky district of the Minsk region of Belarus ). He graduated from high school. In 1944, Mohort was called up for service in the Workers 'and Peasants' Red Army , participated in the battles of World War II [1] . [2]

In 1953, Mohort graduated from the Minsk State Medical Institute , then studied at the residency department of the Department of Urology of the Belarusian Institute for Advanced Medical Studies. In 1960, he defended his thesis, and in 1969 - his doctorate. Since 1961 he taught at the Grodno State Medical Institute, created an assistant professor in urology. He later returned to Minsk , taught at the Minsk Medical Institute. Under his leadership, the department and clinic of urology of this institute became one of the largest educational and scientific centers of the USSR in this field [1] .

Since 1971, Mohort headed the Department of Urology of the Belarusian State University of Advanced Medical Studies, at the same time he worked as the main freelance urologist of Belarus. In addition, for thirty years he was deputy chairman of the Belarusian Society of Urology. He was the author of about 240 scientific papers, including 5 monographs. Under his leadership, 2 doctoral and 14 master's theses were defended. In 1982, Mohort was awarded the title of Honored Scientist of the Belarusian SSR [1] .

He died on May 14, 2003, was buried in the Eastern cemetery of Minsk.
