Tomb of Tziyao
The luxurious Tang Jiyao residence with a park was located on the northern slope of Yantongshan Mountain, and a tomb was built on its territory. Construction took four years. The architecture of the Tomb of Jiyao Tomb is an attempt to combine Chinese traditions with Western- style. In front of her are two columns that are completely atypical for China with Gothic elements (instead of “huabiao” columns) and a pair of rather unconventionally depicted stone lions (both seem to be males with a ball, a symbol of power in the paw, and a lion cub hiding in the fluffy tail of one lion). A stone colonnade was erected in front of the barrow faced with granite , reminiscent of the monuments of ancient Rome , but inside it are not sculptures, but plates with different texts related to the career and merits of Tan Jiyao. Very original stone ornaments towered above the colonnade, but they did not survive. Once the audience was allowed here only on the anniversary of the uprising "In Defense of the Homeland", after the formation of the PRC, access became free, and the monument was in disrepair. The tomb of Tan Jiyao was thoroughly restored in 1989 .
