Peter Filippovich Matuschak (1927-2010) - Honored Worker of Culture of the Republic of Kazakhstan , Honored Coach of the Kazakh SSR , Honored Coach of the USSR in Greco-Roman and freestyle wrestling .

Biography

Since 1943, he worked as a turner at the Alma-Ata Heavy Engineering Plant. He graduated from the sports department of the Kazakh State Institute of Physical Culture (1954). Since 1952, he is a teacher, since 1963 - the head of the department of wrestling, boxing, weightlifting and fencing, and since 1975 - the dean of the martial arts faculty of the Kazakh Institute of Physical Culture. Since 1955, he was also a senior freestyle wrestling coach. From 1978 to 1981 he was an adviser to the USSR Embassy in Afghanistan , the head coach of the Afghan Olympic team in freestyle wrestling. Since 1982 - Professor of the Department of Wrestling of the Kazakh Academy of Sports and Tourism.

Pyotr Matuschak became the silver medalist of the first sports contest of the republics of Central Asia and Kazakhstan (1948) in classical wrestling, the champion of Kazakhstan in freestyle wrestling (1949, 1950, 1952), is a participant in the sports contest of the peoples of the USSR (1956-1979).

Pyotr Filippovich trained classical style wrestlers, then switched to freestyle wrestling. Prepared 103 masters of sports of the USSR . His most famous pupils are Anatoly Kolesov , three-time world champion and champion of the 1964 Olympic Games, Alexander Ivanov , prize-winner of the 1976 Olympic Games, Amangeldy Gabsattarov , Abilseit Aykhanov , Pyotr Surikov , Kabden Baydosov , Amanzhol Bugybaev , champions of the USSR and Europe.

38 pupils of Pyotr Matuschak, including V. Psarev , A. Kolesov, V. Ermakov, A. Akpaev, D. Bagaev, became the deserved trainers of the USSR and Kazakhstan.

Petr Matuschak is the author of textbooks and 30 books on wrestling, including “One Hundred Lessons in Free-style Wrestling”, “Heirs of Kazhymukan”, “Athletes of Kazakhstan on the Top of the Olympus”, “Wrestlers - Heroes of the Olympic Games”, “Olympic Pride of Kazakhstan”, photo album “ Sports and Olympic glory of Kazakhstan. ”

Included in the KINES Book of Records (1999) as the founder of freestyle wrestling in Kazakhstan. Petr Matuschak is the initiator of the discovery at the Kazakh State Institute of Physical Education specialization "Kazaksha Kures" (1970).

He was awarded the Order of Parasat (2002) [1] , an honorary diploma of the Presidium of the Supreme Council of the Kazakh SSR.
