Tianmen Mountain ( Chinese 天门山 , Tiānmén Shān) is a mountain located in China , in the northwest of Hunan Province , in the Tianmen Mountain National Park .

You can climb the mountain by cable car , built by the French company Poma ; you can take it near the nearest railway station Zhangjiajie ; The Tianmen cable car is often referred to in travel guides as “the longest mountain cable car in the world” - it consists of 98 wagons, its total length is 7455 m, the vertical drop is 1279 meters, and the steepest elevation angle is 37 °. Tourists can also walk along the cliff , where in some places there is a “glass path” [2] ; the road with 99 bends passes near the cave "Heaven's Gate" [3] ( in the ill. ) of Tienmen Mountain and reaches the top of the mountain.
Also on top of the lift is a large temple , accessible on foot. The temple was originally built during the Tang Dynasty . The current building, recently built, preserves the traditional style of the era and includes a vegetarian restaurant .
