Egrem Records is a Cuban record label. The record company of socialist Cuba is called Egrem, short for Empresa De Grabaciones Y Ediciones Musicales. It is one of the oldest Cuban labels - a record company and a publishing house of musical literature. Founded by the Americans in Havana. After the Cuban revolution in 1961, to promote the world recording market, Cuban musicians were nationalized and is a state-owned record company. The release of the first records dates back to 1964. By the end of the 60s, Egrem Records became famous under the name of its sub-label Areito .
