Biography
At the age of 14, he was deported to Siberia with his family as part of the Ulus campaign . In 1946 he began his career in Tyumen. He was a student of a blacksmith at a shipyard. In 1958 he returned to Kalmykia and began to work as a team leader of the sheep-breeding complex of the Kalmyk Research Institute of Beef Cattle Breeding. In 1962 he joined the Communist Party. Raised three sons and a daughter.
During the years of the 9th five-year plan, the team of Gakhi Andreev raised 14,830 lambs with a plan of 14,473 lambs and sheared 952 c. wool. By a decree of the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR dated March 10, 1976, he was awarded the title of Hero of Socialist Labor with the award of the Order of Lenin and the Gold Hammer and Sickle Medal.
He was elected as a deputy of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR of the 10th convocation from the Council of Nationalities (1979-1984) and a deputy of the Supreme Council of the Kalmyk Autonomous Soviet Socialist Republic and Tselinny District Council.

- In Elista, on the Alley of Heroes, there is a bas-relief of Gakhi Andreev.
- In 2015, in the village of Troitskoye, Tselinny district, a mini-football tournament was held among veterans.
