History
The history of the Vsetin hockey club begins in 1904, with the founding of a winter sports club in the city. In 1969, the club first took part in the regional championship. In 1979, construction began on the ice palace in Vsetin, which lasted three years. In 1987, Vsetin entered the second Czech hockey league, and after another seven years - in Extraliga . In the first season in the major league, the team won the championship. In 2000, the club faced serious financial difficulties. Each year, staying in the elite became harder and harder. On June 6, 2007, the Czech Association of Professional Hockey Clubs decided not to issue a license to the club to participate in Extra League. The Arbitration Commission of the Czech Hockey Association on August 20 confirmed that the exception is justified. [1] Only a year later, the team managed to enter the second league.
