Description
Lviv Regional State TV and Radio Company counts its history from December 24, 1957 , when the Lviv TV Tower was opened on Zamkova Hill (elevation 570 m). Lviv TV Studio is the oldest (after the Kiev TV Studio) studio of television broadcasting of the Ukrainian SSR and Ukraine. At the first stage of broadcasting, its coverage area included Lviv, Ivano-Frankivsk, Ternopil, Volyn, Rivne, Chernivtsi and Transcarpathian regions. Such a structure was created thanks to the efforts of cinema, radio, theater and press workers from different regions of the Ukrainian SSR, who had an internship at the USSR Central Television, UT-1 Kiev TV Channel and Intervision. Radio broadcasting in Lviv began in January 1930 and also progressed significantly during the years of existence of the Ukrainian SSR. In 1985, through the efforts of the workers of the Lviv TV studio, a teleconference with Winnipeg was organized.
Today, the main office is located in Lviv, Vysoky Zamok Street, Building 4. Lviv OGTRK provides daily 16-hour television broadcasting and 2.5-hour broadcasting: it is represented by Lviv TV channel UA: Lviv and the First Channel of Ukrainian Radio . The number of employees is about 400 people.
