Corybas (lat.) - a genus of monocotyledonous plants of the Orchidaceae family ( Orchidaceae ). First distinguished by British botanist Richard Anthony Salisbury in 1807 [2] .

The genus is named after the character of the ancient Greek mythology of Coribant , or in honor of the Phrygian goddess Cybele [3] .
The genus includes 133 plant species [4] . Type species - Corybas aconitiflorus Salisb. [5] .
Range - from tropical and subtropical Asia to the islands of the Pacific Ocean and Subarctic [2] .
Perennial geophytic or epiphytic herbaceous plants. The roots are lost. The tubers are fleshy, rounded, paired. The stalk is straight. A single leaf, located at the base of the plant. The flowers are small, pale in color. The fruit is a box that carries many seeds with appendages in the form of wings [6] .
A number of Corybas species are grown as ornamental [6] .
