History
Under the empire of Late Qi, Lepin County (乐平 э) was created in these places. In the northern part of the county, there was the city of Shening (莘 亭 城), and under the Empire, the Later Zhou county was renamed Shening (莘 亭 县). In the case of the Sui Empire in 586, the name of the county was changed to Yanping (阳平 县), and two years later - to Qingyi (清 邑 邑). In 606, the county was renamed Shen.
In 1949, the county became part of the Special Liaocheng District (聊城 专区) of the newly-formed Pingyuan Province . In 1952, Pingyuan Province was disbanded, and the Liaocheng Special District was transferred to Shandong Province. In 1958, the county was disbanded and its territory was divided between Guanxian and Fanxian counties.
In 1961, the county was recreated, and in 1964, part of the Fanxian county was even attached to it. In 1967, the Liaocheng Special District was renamed Liaocheng District (聊城).
By the Decree of the State Council of the PRC dated August 29, 1997, Liaocheng County and Liaocheng City County were disbanded, and Liaocheng City District was formed instead of them.

Notes
- ↑ In accordance with the rules of the Russian name for Chinese toponyms, if the Chinese name consists of one syllable, then a Chinese word is added to it, denoting the type of toponym (“county”, “mountain”, “river”, etc.), so that the Russian name It was at least double-complex.
