To explain Christianity and the biblical tradition, Rozanov turns to Semitic paganism. He combines the veneration of Moloch and Astarte with biblical monotheism on the issue of erasing gender differences. In the frenzied castrats, “kedeshes,” Rozanov sees the origins of the Old Testament asceticism ( Nazarenes ) and Christian monasticism . Rozanov hypothesizes that Jehovah (the biblical God) who created the world also needed a second female hypostasis. Therefore, in the original God is designated as " Elohim " (in many parts), and people were originally heterogeneous. Rozanov does not miss an opportunity to criticize the hypocritical morality of sex, prohibiting early marriage, but through his fingers looking at masturbation and prostitution. He suggests that temple prostitution also existed in Jerusalem . Violation of the laws of nature leads to sodomy . Rozanov resolutely calls the "blunt assumption" Schopenhauer 's opinion about the natural nature of sodomy. Considering the issue of pornography, the writer admits its obscenity, but the source sees this in the one who is depicted: not the righteous, but blasphemers from the vile estates. Rozanova was interested in the question of the possibility of copulation without sin , reproach and bashfulness.
Rozanov sharply distinguishes between the Old Testament and its polygamy of patriarchs (“the religion of the sacred childbearing”) and the New Testament with its apology of the middle sex ( urnings ). If the Old Testament calls to be fruitful and multiply, then the New Testament, as it were, says, "Blessed are not those who multiply," living "like angels." In the Old Testament, as a result of the temptation of the Serpent, the ancestors find shame (urning).
