The lane is named after the 81st Absheron Infantry Regiment , which was transferred to Vladikavkaz in 1896 from the settlement of Temir-Khan-Shura [1] . The regiment occupied the barracks on the modern Costa Avenue near the military prosecutor's office. Near the barracks there was the Church of Saints Peter and Paul (has not been preserved to date), which, after arriving in the city of the Absheron Regiment, began to bear its name. A lane was formed around this church at the beginning of the 20th century, which became known as a regiment [2] .
For the first time, the lane was marked on the plan "Scheme of the support plan of Vladikavkaz" from 1984.
Currently, the lane is not cross-cutting. The entrance to the lane is located on the side of Ardonskaya street. The lane is separated from the Costa Avenue by the SIZO complex.
