Biography
Born November 22, 1735 in Kursk.
Since 1775, he was the holder of the wine farms in Tobolsk , and in 1779-1783, together with his nephew M. S. Golikov, they had wine farms [1] in Moscow and St. Petersburg . In 1784, Golikov received the right to buy wine in the Irkutsk province .
Since the 1770s, I. I. Golikov took part in the organization of offshore fisheries in the Pacific Ocean. Together with his nephew [2] and G.I.Shelikhov, he founded the Northeast Trade and Fishing Company in 1781. After the transformation of the company into Russian-American , he became its largest shareholder, owning a package of more than 170 shares.
He was engaged in public activities in Kursk , where at different times he was a public notary , ratman of the city magistrate and mayor . [3] He took part in the ceremonial meeting of Empress Catherine II when she visited Kursk in June 1787, returning from her trip to the Crimea . [3]

He died on November 17, 1805 . He was buried in St. Petersburg at the Lazarevsky cemetery of the Alexander Nevsky Lavra. [four]
Merit
- For his activities in organizing fishing companies, Golikov was awarded a gold medal with diamonds and a silver sword.
- In Kursk, at his expense, was built (1786) and contained the first main public school for youth in Kursk (since 1804 - a male gymnasium ). [3]
