Biography
Born in Leningrad, in the family of engineer Liliya Bakhshiyevna Abalyan and famous Soviet engineer Sarkis Aramovich Safaryants, general designer and developer of projects for most airports in the USSR .. Mary spent her childhood in a house where prominent Russian composer N.А. Rimsky-Korsakov, on Zagorodny pr.28. Today, there is a memorial museum-apartment N.A. Rimsky-Korsakov.
Musical career
Despite the fact that Maria was born in a family of "technocrats", musical ability and absolute hearing were noted in her already at an early age. Maria received her first music lessons from Galina Feodorovna Gramenitskaya-Boldyreva, a wonderful flatmate of noble origin.
Soon, Maria entered the music school number 15 of the Central District of Leningrad, in violin class. The first performances of Maria Safaryants took place at an early age - these are district and reporting concerts. One of the first independent concerts was a performance at the Palace of Culture of Food Industry Workers, when Maria was 12 years old, according to her, it was then that she felt like a real artist, which resulted in an invitation to perform with other talented children on the radio.
In 1975 she graduated from the Musorgsky Musical School and entered the Leningrad State Conservatory named after N. A. Rimsky-Korsakov . Being a third year student of the performing department, Maria entered the orchestra of the St. Petersburg State Philharmonic named after D. D. Shostakovich , where she served from 1978 to 1987 . Training in the conservatory and service in the Philharmonic successfully combined with active solo activities. The most significant influence on the formation of the artist was rendered by famous musicians, professors of the Conservatory - Maria Karandashova, Mikhail Vaiman ( People's Artist of the RSFSR ), Boris Gutnikov (People's Artist of the RSFSR) as well as meetings and internships with Igor Bezrodny ( People's Artist of the RSFSR , Professor of the Moscow Conservatory), great influenced by a wonderful violinist, people's artist of Russia M. Gantvarg.
During her studies at the conservatory, Maria showed organizational skills and leadership skills. She was one of the founders of the historical cycle of concerts "Musical Environments" in the museum of N.А. Rimsky-Korsakov. In 1987, together with Mikhail Gantvarg, she founded the Soloists of Leningrad ensemble under Lenconcert.
After graduating from the conservatory, Maria moved to Germany for personal reasons, where she performed with concerts. Soon she received a contract from Italy with Orchestra Internazionale d'Italia in the position of accompanist. Since 1989, life begins between the three countries - Russia - Italy and Germany.
On his return to Russia he creates the ensemble "St. Petersburg Trio", with brilliant partners: Honored Artist of Russia, Sergei Uryvaev (piano) and Leonid Shukayev (cello).
Personal life
In 1990, Maria Safaryants met with world famous conductor and pianist Konstantin Orbelyan . In 1990 he created the festival “Palaces of St. Petersburg” and invited to perform the “St. Petersburg Trio”, at that time one of the most significant ensembles of Leningrad, created by Maria Safaryants. From that moment on, their creative and personal interaction began, which grew into a marriage. In 1993, Maria and Constantine had a son, Gevork.
Activity
Since 1997, Maria has become the artistic director of the [[Palaces of St. Petersburg]] festival. At that time, Konstantin was already the chief conductor of the Moscow Chamber Orchestra. In the same year, Maria establishes the regional public foundation, Palaces of St. Petersburg, where she is still President. The product of the foundation were great concerts. The festival annually presents the first persons of the world scene, such as Irina Arkhipova, Elena Obraztsova.
Gradually the festival went far beyond the summer season. From 2004 and to this day, together with the Konstantinovsky Foundation, Maria created the cycle of concerts "Musical Seasons in Konstantinovsky". Also the festival "Music of Water" is held on the water utility of St. Petersburg.
In 2010 , under the leadership of Mary, a new autumn project was created - the St. Petersburg Embankment International Music Festival and the Musical Evenings at the Presidential Library project.
In 2018 - the Palace of the Crimea-Palaces of St. Petersburg festival was held for the first time.
Under her leadership, the Foundation is engaged in social and charitable activities.
Maria successfully combines organizational and performing activities. He has toured extensively throughout Russia and abroad, strengthening cultural ties with various States.
