Description
On the Varangian (Norman) triangular heraldic shield , four silver and azure rays are placed, emanating from the center and forming a cross.
Outgoing rays symbolize the fire of the local lighthouse, founded in 1844 and is now one of the main landmarks of the island municipality.
The cross is a symbol of Christianity.
