Addounia TV ( Arabic. قناة الدنيا الفضائية , the literal translation is “Mir Channel”) is a private Syrian television channel. Launched March 23, 2007 . Western media outlets qualify the channel as “semi-official” and consider it a “mouthpiece of the government.”

History
During armed conflict
On September 23, 2011, the Council of the European Union added the television channel to the list of authorized individuals and legal entities, on the basis that, allegedly, Addounia TV "incited violence against the civilian population in Syria." On October 20, 2011, Addounia TV was interrupted by Hotbird satellite. Later, the TV channel said that the sanctions imposed by the European Union, contrary to the principles of freedom of the media and international conventions that protect freedom of speech.
The channel suspended broadcasting on February 5, 2012 , as it was hacked by the opposition .
The Arab League officially asked the satellite operators Arabsat and Nilesat to stop broadcasting the Syrian media, including Addounia TV. In June 2012, the Syrian Arab News Agency stated that the request to stop broadcasting was made in order to “mislead people about the conflict in Syria”.
President Bashar al-Assad was interviewed on August 29, 2012 on Addounia, in which he spoke about local and regional events.
On September 5, 2012, the broadcasting of Syrian television channels from Arabsat and Nilesat, including Addounia TV , was interrupted.
Addounia TV journalist Suhail Al-Ali died on January 4, 2013, 4 days after the Syrian opposition fighters opened fire on him in Damascus.
On May 16, 2013, the US Department of State added Addounia TV to the black list of TV channels.
On March 25, 2014, Addounia TV continued broadcasting from the Nilesat satellite, after 18 months of stopping the broadcast.
