Biography
He graduated in 1882 from Uppsala University , where he became a private assistant professor in the history of literature . In 1893, he was appointed professor in Stockholm. Levertin's first fiction works (for example, " Från Rivieran: skisser från Medelhavskusten" ) are written in the spirit of naturalism ; in later works he discovers more originality and independence (eg. "Rococo", Swedish. "Rococo-noveller" , 1899, Russian translation - former edition). Sincerity of feelings breathe his poetic works. Levertin's literary and historical works are mainly devoted to the theater. Some Levertin's works have been translated into Russian .
